Psychology for Life
Things They Should Have Taught Us at School

A course about how our minds work, what lies behind our feelings, thoughts, and actions — and why we do not always understand ourselves.
Complex subjects explained clearly, without making them either needlessly academic or simplistic.

We build relationships, raise children, earn money, love, get angry, feel afraid and ashamed, and make decisions every day.
Yet almost no one explains how all this works or why we react the way we do.
This course is a systematic introduction to human psychology, without obscure terminology or simplistic recipes, with a clear structure and everyday examples in which you may recognize yourself and others.
Program
1. Feelings and Emotions
Why feelings and emotions matter, how they differ, why awareness alone is not enough, and what happens when we try to suppress our experiences.
2. Psychological Defenses. Theory
Why our minds use defense mechanisms, what they protect us from, when they help us cope, and when they make it harder to see reality and make decisions.
3. Psychological Defenses. Practice
How we protect ourselves from difficult feelings, what happens to our relationships, and why our own defenses can be so hard to recognize.
4. Aggression — the Foundation of Life
Why aggression is not only anger and destruction but also energy for action, the ability to establish boundaries, advocate for ourselves, and pursue what we want.
5. Shame, Guilt, Sadness, Depression
How to distinguish shame, guilt, and sadness, how depression differs from ordinary grief or sadness, and why not every unpleasant feeling must be removed immediately.
6. Fear, Anxiety, Arousal
How fear and anxiety arise, why the body becomes aroused, what happens during panic attacks, and how our experiences and physical responses relate to each other.
7. A Healthy Child
What children need for healthy psychological development, how relationships with parents influence growing up, why developmental stages matter, and why some familiar parenting methods do not work.
8. The Psychology of Money
Why financial decisions are not always rational, how money connects with safety, self-esteem, achievement, and dependence, and what shapes our understanding of prosperity and well-being.
9. Sex and a Healthy Family
How sexual desire and intimacy work, why partners’ needs may differ, what happens to sexuality in long-term relationships, and why sex can be difficult to discuss.
Bonus
20 Ways to Be Heard
How to talk about important things without turning every conversation into conflict, listen to others, and stay connected even when you disagree.
Who This Course Is For
For anyone who wants to understand themselves and the people around them better.
Why do we get angry at loved ones, fear change, avoid difficult conversations, repeat the same mistakes, and sometimes fail to understand our own actions?
You do not have to become a psychologist to explore these questions, but it helps to understand how the mind works.
This course does not teach diagnosis and does not replace psychotherapy.
It provides knowledge that can help you notice more, better understand what happens in relationships, and make decisions with fewer illusions.
Format
Nine themed video lessons and bonus material.
Watch at your own pace, follow the course in sequence, or return to individual topics as needed.
